I can sympathize with you, but chill out, please. The fact is, most of the people on this web site aren't looking for relatives now, they're looking for where they came from in the past. If we got all the Dugas in the world together, we'd have to empty out the rest of Louisiana just to accommodate them. I can remember attending a Dugas family reunion about twenty years ago that was just my grandmother's siblings and families and they filled a whole park. I haven't been looking that long, but I'm just trying to find out information on my great-grandfather. He had 13 children and god knows how many grands and so on, plus he had at least 3 brothers that my grandmother knows of and other siblings as well, yet not one of them seems to be interested in tracing the genealogy. There are tons of World family trees containing Dugas', yet not one of them seems to link to my family.
Look, I don't care if you're African-American or white. My own tree contains Indian and Spanish and may even contain some Creole, and my children happen to be half Ethiopian. And I won't deny that I'm sure there are many cajuns and Dugas out there who might hold your race against you. But the fact of the matter is, what puts people off is your ANGER. Every other message alternates between asking for information and going off because nobody has responded. Have you checked out how many messages don't get responses?
If you're forever blaming people and accusing them of being racist and avoiding you, why on earth WOULD they want to get to know you???
I wish you luck, Lea
