I am a descendent of Abraham Dugas and have also found a lot of information from searching Google. However, I haven't been able to find much on the the lineage of Abraham Dugas in France prior to his coming to America. One source says his father is Abraham Dugast, born 1590. Another source (http://www.chez.com/gencaretal/dat458.htm#11) gives his father as follows:
Gas, ... Coignet du Sexe: Masculin
Les Dugas portaient le nom de Coignet du GAs en France.
Famille:
Mariage: En France
Conjoint:, Inconnue Sexe: Féminin
Enfant(s): Dugas, Abraham
I would be very grateful for any information regarding the above.
