Could Harris Duggins be Harrison Duggins, father of Harriet? My great grandmother on my mother's father's side was Harriet Duggins (d. August 4, 1901 and buried with her husband, John H. Duggins (d. May 11, 1913)in the old Mayodan Cemetery. Note that she was a Duggins and married a Duggins. I was told by one of her daughters that Harris (Harrison) died in the Civil War from an illness. News of his death was received the day his wife expected him to arrive at home. Harriet Duggins married a Duggins.

If so, then Harriet's brother, Cornelius Rufus, reappears among my relatives, as my great granduncle, but I am not sure.

Looking forward to hearing from those interested. Thanks.
