My late wife’s g-g-grandparents were Napoleon Bonaparte Duggins and Mary Eliza Butner, a Moravian identified in Moravian records. Napoleon was born in Stokes Co., NC in 1814, married Mary Eliza 22 Jun 1839 in Stokes Co., and died sometime between 1870 and 1880. The couple had ten children, one of whom was Samuel Edwin Duggins of Stokes Co., and later Colfax, Guilford Co., NC. Samuel and Hannah M. Payne, his first of two wives, had a least one son – Charles Emerson Duggins who over a period of years lived in both Guilford and Forsyth County. Charles married Arizona Julia Gray and had at least nine children one of whom was my wife’s mother, Maytree Duggins. All of the offspring appear to have remained in the Forsyth and Guilford County area. Any assistance would be appreciated, especially anything concerning Napoleon’s ancestry.
