OK, so I was wrong!! Contrary to the Hanover Co. census taker, these two Mary Duggins' ARE the same. Found proof in the Chancery Ct. records online from the Library of Va. which state in a court case that PH Duggins' wife, Mary Eliza Nuckols, was the same Mary as the widow of Bowlman (spelling ?) Bowles.
So000...I'm sorry to have been such a pest in this matter, but nobody ever provided me with any proofs, despite my many queries, letter, etc., so this Yankee may be forgiven, I hope.
Keep those cards and letters coming! At least, now I know which Mary Nuckols -Elizabeth, not Elmira - was my late husband's great-grandmother. She was the daughter of John William and Susan Jude Nuckols.
