Duguids of Aberdeen>Goochland VA
I researched the Duguids some time ago because of the similarity of Duguid/Duiguid/Dugood/Duggard/Dugger names.I have a Sampson Dugger in Brunswick County VA in 1794 who probably is not the same as the Sampson Diuguid mentioned here.I'd like to know more of the William mentioned here.

I need information on Patrick Henry,Revvolutionary patriot, born 1736. His father was John
Henry of Louisa and Hanover County, Va. His mother so listed as Sarah Winston, married first
Col. John Syme, 2nd John Henry. John Syme and Sarah, his wife of St. Pauls Parish, sell land in
Louisa County in 1771 to Francis Smith, 1070 acres in Trinity Parish of Louisa County, on the
south side of the old Mountain Road adjoining Francis Clark's land, on both sides of Fork Creek.
How could Patrick Henry, born 1736, be the son of John and Sarah Winston-Syme Henry when
John and Sarah are still married in 1771. Patrick Henry,Col. John Syme, and the Sheltons lived
in Louisa County on a farm adjacent and joining my ancestors, John,
Francis and Joseph Clark. Francis Clark married Cordelia Lankford 1704-1705. Joseph Clark,
his son, married Elizabeth Stone of Caroline Co Va. There is a deed that names Sarah Henry as a
legal heir of Francis Clark, among other grandchildren. Is there more? Does anyone have names
of the children of Patrick Henry. He had six children by his first wife Sarah, and 11 children by
his second wife. Sarah died before 1776 when he moved from his home, 'Scotchtown'to the
governor's mansion as Governor of Virginia.
ii. ELIZABETH HENRY.
iii. JANE HENRY, m. SAMUEL MEREDITH6.
iv. ANNE HENRY, m. COL. WILLIAM CHRISTIAN.
Notes for COL. WILLIAM CHRISTIAN:
See Christian Family, William and Mary College Quarterly, 8W122
"Reference has already been made to the constant recurrence of the name William in this family. It has been the source of some confusion and much anxiety in the preparation of this article....The first of these is evidently Col. William Christian who married Anne, sister of Patrick Henry. In 1775 he was Lt. Colonel of the 1st Virginia Regiment of which Mr. Henry was Colonel..."
