Hello Pierre,
I need to discuss Duhamel genealogy with you. You see, Marie Arel & Andre Duhamel are my great-grandparents. Their son, Philippe Andre Duhamel [b. Nov. 13, 1885, St. Hyacienth] and Marie Jeann Cartier are my grandparents. They had (2) daughters [Marguerite & Florance] and (1) son [George Andre]. Marguerite survives them all and she is my mother. Additionally, Marguerite is almost 84 and she lives with me in California.
I have had a difficult time identifying who the members of the Andre Duhamel and Marie Arel family are because my mother [Marguerite Duhamel] is very forgetful and can not remember all of her parents siblings. She does remember that her mother [Marie Jeanne Cartier, b. August 29, 1887] was 19 years old when she got married. That being the case, your marriage date for Philippe and Marie Jeanne Cartier is incorrect. I have their marriage date as January 01, 1905 and they did get married at St. Michel D'Yamaska, Canada.
Please tell me what source you used regarding Andre and Mare Arel's family?I have been searching for the siblings and their marriages for years. Would you please be willing to help me with the Duhamel genealogy since my mother can not?I will be happy to send to all that I have on my line is you wish.
As for Hector, Andre and Pierre, I believe I am mistaken. Mother thought her father had brothers by those names. However, she is a poor historian as I have already explained.
Lastly, are you related to me? It is always nice to find additional cousins. I have found at least 7 cousins on line by doing genealogy.
Respectfully,
Claudette Benoit-Rockwell
