One more pronounciation to add to the list:
Dig a non - I just got a 1851 marriage record from Lichfield Staffordshire England where my gg grandmother Catherine Duignan married. She marked with an 'X' and the clerk wrote it as Diganon. Perhaps, that is the closest he could record from her pronounciation. Later, on a baptism record, a parish clerk listed as Duignan. She was born County Mayo in 1830.
