Dear Joan,

I am delivering a lecture on the history of Kilronan parish at Kilronan Castle, Monday 3 August, and will be referring to W.H. Duignan's cycling tours on Kilronan in the late 1880s. I believe the diaries of the cycling tours are in Walsall Library. Has you (or anyone) checked out the Kilronan/North Roscommon entries? The Duignan family of Walsall traced its Irish line to Ardagh: is their any direct link to Kilronan?

(The O'Duignan family built the abbey at Kilronan, which is the last resting place of O'Carolan, the 'last of the Irish bards')

Luke Gibbons
