I am searching for any information on Michael Dignum or his siblings. I believe he came to the US via New York . His father was John and siblings were James, Ann, John,Thomas and Patrick. Michael was a coachman for the Van Rensselaer family of Albany. His first wife was Ella Ham. They were married at St. Joseph's Church in Albany and had 7 children - Mary, Emily Jane, William John, James J., John Patrick,Thomas Francis and Mary #2. Only 3 lived to adulthood. Ella died in 1867 and Michael married Bridget Egan. They had 4 children - Elizabeth, Elizabeth #2,Ann and Edward. The spelling of Dignum varies, but there was an "m" at the end most often. I have no information on Michael's mother and do not know the home county for either wife. I have no idea what happened to Michael's siblings. If they died before 1870, there would be no civil record of it in Albany. Perhaps some of them moved to other places. I would also like to determine the part of Roscommon the Dignums called home. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
