Henry Nelson Duke came to Marion County GA with Darling, Enoch and Meredith; also Lewis Dugan Sydney Duke. I've never determined what their connection to the other 3 Dukes; they were a generation younger. Henry Nelson has at least one Henry Rowland Duke in his descendants. The Hester given name even bled over into my White relatives. Interesting - I have always accepted the two Robert and two Jesse version. Now, I gotta think about it. I grew up in Cullman, AL pretty much disconnected from my Marion County Dukes; a branch of Jesse Duke's descendant live in the northern part of the county. I was always told they weren't our kin; but I don't think Daddy was thinking that far back.
Seaborn Duke also raised a family in Marion County, AL. Always thought there were strangers to each other..maybe not. Would like to see this keep going with others pulling out some naming traditions to compare.
