Dorothy, I am going to post a much more complete message, with documents, etc., later, but for now, this will have to do: 1. I have noticed so many similar names in the families of my Jesse Duke, s/o Robt. of Lancaster, and Robt. Duke of Fairfield, that it's just not coincidental: Aaron, Hester, Roland, Jesse, (two Jesse's; sons/o 2 Robert's could be uncle and nephew) and others. 2. Benjamin Cook (Jr.) sold land to and had land near both Robert Duke's: Benj. Cook, Sr., was greatly involved with the Joseph Crenshaw family, earlier in Lunenburg/Mecklenburg/Brunswick Co., VA, and Cook descendants are married with my first cousins, in Coosa Co., AL. 3. Crenshaw Duke, s/o Robt. of Lancaster, is on a deed with the Robert Duke of Fairfield, and is also on another deed with members of the Sims family, descendants of which are married with my grandmother's Abernathy/Duke family in Coosa Co., AL (descendants of James Nelson Duke, s/o Jesse Duke and Nancy Waldrop). 4.The Hicklin family (Arthur, et al) is on deeds with Robt. of Fairfield, and also found in Lancaster Co., near Jesse Duke and Micajah Crenshaw, in the 1800 census. There's more, and I will get it together fairly soon. Otis Fuller Notify Administrator about this message?
