Peggy, do you know anything more about Smith Dulin? I am trying to do some research on a Smith Dulin but another source gave me his father's name as James. Obviously there can be more than one Smith Dulin! I have the obit of a Smith Dulin who died in Webster City, Iowa.
It states:
Hamilton Freeman, Wed. 17 Dec. 1879:
Another Old Settler Gone

Mr. Smith Dulin, father of Mrs. B.S. Beach, died Dec 8th, 1879 of paralysis, at the advanced age of 87 years and 11 months. Deceased was born in Farquar [sic] county, Virginia, Jan. 5, 1792. He was a soldier in the War of 1812, for which service he drew a pension from the government during the latter years of his life. From Virginia he removed to Ohio; from thence to Illinois, and thence to this county some 15 years ago. He was a man of sound body and vigorous mind, and by his uprightness and manhood gained the respect and esteem of all who knew him. Peace to his ashes.

He is buried next to: Elvina Dulin Beach 1838 - 1930
Benjamin Sears Beach 1829 - 1893
Mary Louise Beach 1870-1877
Julia Ann Beach 1867-1954

I don't know as this is any help to you though, as it does not mention his parents.
