Thanks, now I feel more comfortable about the records I ordered. I AM almost positive I will find his birth information there. One interesting thing is that I spoke with my grandfather today (only living grandparent is my father's father) and I asked him about his wife's supposed French lineage and he did say she once told him she had Swiss French lineage from her father's side. That is a big help in supporting French roots; however, your theories about Slovaks 'flocking' together during those times is also very compelling. In my opinion, it is now a 50/50 chance on any of this being true. I definitely know my grnadmother Anka had predominantly Slovak lineage, but I always like to investigate the anomalies! I agreed with you initially about the French lineage not being likely. Hence, the reason for my research here! This is going to be fun!!! Is there really ever any way to know 100% with genealogy, or is there always some element of doubt? By the way, on roots web, my father's Aunht Caroline commented on the Dulin surname originally spelled, "Du Line" in French!I'll dig up this link and send it to you. It would be fun to prove them all wrong LOL.
