Dear William: Thank you for trying to locate Michael Kneifl and the Duling connection for me. I have heard from Matthew Duling descendants. A granddaughter of Matthew Duling (and niece of Isabelle) very kindly supplied me with this information: Isabelle Katherine Duling was born March 2, 1885 in Sioux City, Iowa, the third child and first daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Duling after her brothers Albert John (1881-1963) and "Tony" (1883-1942). Isabelle was married in Sioux City in 1905 to Michael Kneifl, a widower. She died in childbirth, and the child with her, in 1906. Katherine sent me a picture of Isabelle at age 7, and included more information than what I have included here about the Dulings. I am not sure why Michael does not appear in the 1920 census, but there is a family story that he lived in Texas for a while. He died in my grandfather's home in Hartington, Nebraska, in 1926, so the 1930 census would be no help, either. Thank you again for your interest. Judy Schrader
