Hi Anthea,
My 4th great grandmother was Hannah Dumpleton who married William Cato 18 Nov 1790 at Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. I am trying to trace both of these lines further back. I believe Hannah to be Chr 2 May 1762, the daughter of John "Dumpledine" & Elizabeth/Betty "Hooton". This John ("Dumbreton") to be Chr 11 Aug 1728 at Totternhoe, Beds. the son of William & Mary. Elizabeth/Betty could be the daughter of Thomas "Hooten" & Catherine Coles, but I can't find a baptism around 1735. Are any of these names connected to you? Can you help me with any further information? I hope to hear from you.
Regards,
Jenny Evans (Melbourne Australia)
