Thanks Nathanael - Johnathan & Rose Dumbleton are the wrong time frame to be my 7x grandparents.
William Dumblington (!) married Mary Durley in Bierton Bucks in 1728. The parish register says that William came from Tottenhoe Beds but there is no sign of the family there at that time. Looking at the names of his children, John, Thomas, Hannah, Mary etc I'm hoping that he would have had siblings with the same names. I wonder in fact if they came from Northamptonshire and not Oxford but I will keep an open mind!
A relative of mine had access to the parish fiche of Buckinghamshire and we never found the right family. So at the moment, I'm at a brickwall but living in hope!
