Hello Wendy, good to hear from you. It is my wife that is the Mightens (name change over time) through her mother. I have William Mighten born in Moira in about 1818-22. His father I think was James married to a Helen Clifford. William died in Govan Poorhouse in 1887. Fanny died in 1880 in Tradestown. I think she was born in Magheralin, Co. Down in 1820. They had 7 children. William, John, Joseph, Elizabeth, Robert, Thomas and James. William, the one born in Ireland is also my wife's G.G.Grandfather. The son William was married 3 times. His son Thomas James was send to Kiltarlity - near Inverness when his mother died he was 10. Went back to Glasgow to get married with another girl farmed out from Glasgow. It is from Kiltarlity that my wife comes from. I spend many a long night trying to get the right Mightens - there seems to be about 3 families that came from Ireland but I don't know if they are related. What path does your hushand come through from William?

Happy to pass on as much info as you want. hope to hear from you.

Best wishes
