Hi Wendy

good to hear from you. So it is Thomas Mightens that is the path from Michael. I agree with you on all the details. Jane Carlan/Carlton died 24th Feb 1905 at 63 King St., South Glasgow. They had children; John, David, Charles Thomas, Fanny, Mary, Isabella, Elizabeth, Jane and 2 Williams. Also Thomas was married to an Elizabeth Douglas.

Thomas' father Michael came from Ireland (Co.Down) and I noticed that you looked them up in the 1861 census. I note that sons John was born in Galston, Ayrshire and William at Renton, Dunbartonshire. I can't find either birth recorded. John was 14 in the 1861 census they must have been in Scotland in 1847. Can't find them in the 1851 census though.

My sister in law has my only copy of the Mighten family tree so I am going on memory and Scotlands People.

Have you had any success in tracing them in Ireland?
