Handwritten family history-Joseph W. Dunagans family
I came across a handwritten note in a flea market. It says it was written April 29th, 1949 by Dr. Franklin Dunagan, for 'Arch Dunagan and 'me' Dr. Franklin Dunagan.
I am spelling this as he wrote it, and some things are obviously mispelled, but here it is. I will show in parenthesis what I think were the town or county names meant by him, of those mispelled.
Franklin Dungan was borned Feb. 16, 1886 at Eureka Springs, Carol Co., Ark. (Carroll) - Age 63 (when this was written in 1949)
It names his father as Mr. Joseph Williams Dunagan, borned Sept. 27, 1859 at Capefair Mo., Stone County.
Died Nov. 9th, 1907 at Capefair MO. Stone County age 48.
It names his mother as Mrs. Charity Emeline Dunagan, borned July 26, 1863 at Buffalo Mo., Dalas County. (Dallas Co.)
Died June 4, 1947 age 84 at Reeds Spring MO.
Siblings listed of Franks as:
Miss Jenettie Dunagan age 60. Borned April 18, 1889 at Beryville Ark. Carol Co. (Berryville in Carroll Co.)
Miss Dela Mae Dunagan age 56. Borned June 15, 1896 at Aurora Mo. Larance Co. (Lawrence Co.).
Mr. Henry Archeubel Dunagan (calls him 'Arch", prob. named Archibald), age 52. Borned Dec. 19, 1897 at Jonesboro Ark. Cragehead County. (Craighead Co.).

Miss Ollia Doral Dunagan, age 45. Borned June 6, 1904 at Campbell Mo., Dunagan Co. (prob. meant Dunklin as above if a county exists by this name..need to look as it may be Duncan Co.).
Last paragraph says:
"Well I have wrote this to the best of my remembrence So you better keep it or put it down in your bible as it may come in handay for you some day.
- Frank
:-)
It is written on an old page of notebook paper, and cut in half. Part of it has tape on it. It was stuck in the front of an "American Genealogies, Inc. publishing" called "The Dunagan Family Album, and a certificate on the 1st page which shows it was to go to "H.A. Dunagan" of Hollister, MO. dated 1986.
This book is one of those that tells some info on how to research your family history and has pages to fill in with your own family data, as well as a small section listing Dunagans in the US. and their address's at that time.
Being a genealogists myself, I thought I'd pay the $2.00 plus tax for it and list the handwritten info. here in case it is helpful to someone.
