As far as looking at what I have here - our family originated from the Cheverill area and I guess if we throw a few names into the hat something will gell...
John Dunford married sarah Heath around 18-11-1770 out of this union a son John born1786 married Mary phillips and their son William married Elizabeth Smith - they brought their bundle of kids out here to NZ on the first four ships (Cressy) in 1850 to canterbury and this started most of the Dunford lineage here in NZ... Another two brothers from another line of this family 'Worthy and William' came to Dunedin NZ and started a line there - but I think this line died out apart from one boy who may have moved to Auckland NZ... Hope this does not confuse the issue to much for you. cheers Allan D.
