I downloaded your James Dunford family from Ancestry.com in 1998. You will have to search in Virginia for their ancestors. Mine are from North Carolina. The 1790 federal census has a William and Phillip Dunford (brothers} living side by side on farms. They do not have any sons named James. I am trying to find out where these brothers came from. I think they came from Virginia but have not been able to confirm it. Good luck in your search, William Wayne Dunford b. 11=20=36
