I'd like to throw in my two cents for what it is worth.. I've been sent so much information concerning the Clarke genealogy and the math just doesn't fit. I have listed so many Dungan's with the last name spelled various grandmother has DUNCAN (mistake by the stone mason) on her tombstone...she was a Dungan although she pronounced her name Dunigan (Dunegan). She was adament about her IRISH heritage.

My Uncle did much research concerning his Dungan roots and from his information stated my Nathan Dungan of Philadelphia jumped ship in Wales after being arrested by the English in Ireland. It appears if you have one Dungan who was from PA they all descend from the "ROYAL LINE".

I will continue my search for William Dungan b. PA 1777 d. Madison Co. TN, son of Nathan Dungan with an open mind and not add to the impossible figures (enough to populate the entire US) descendants of William Dungan of RI, the Royal Perfumer to the KING.

Got that off my chest...
