Looking for any information on the family of John A. Dungan born circa 1821 who married Susannah (maiden name may be Crandle) born circa 1823. Both were born in Indiana and resided in Harmony Township, Union County, Indiana.
Known children were:
1. Joseph L. b: c1845.
2. Elisha A. b: c1846.
3. Jonathan b: c1847.
4. Zelah b: cFeb. 1850.
5. James b: c1851.
6. Samuel b: cFeb 1852.
7. Mary M. or Anna M. or Margaret b: 1860.
8. John A. b: c1862.
I believe all of the children were born in Harmony Township, Union County, IN but I found marriage records for some of them in Fayette County, IN along with one one for a John Dungan and Susannah Crandle for 23 May 1844 also in Fayette County. According to the Fayette County marriage records, Jonathan Dungan married Sarah J. Sample 26 Jan 1871; Samuel Dungan married 1st Martha W. Sample 03 Sep 1873 and married 2nd Eugenia H. Smith 18 Feb 1886; Zelah Dungan married Mary Ann Grist 23 Sep 1874; Joseph L. Dungan married Sarah M. Adair 01 Mar 1866; Mary M. Dungan married Jesse O. Henry 25 May 1887. These may be incorrect spouses but the marriage dates fit when the children are missing from John and Susannah's census records.
My mother-in-law was a Dungan who's grandparents were John A. Dungan b: cSept 1862 who married on 24 May 1883 to Rose E. Hollingsworth b: cFeb 1866. Both were born in Indiana. I know that John & Rose lived in Center Township in Indianapolis but their marriage record is from Union County. I'm trying to place John. I'm hoping perhaps that the above John and Susannah Dungan are his parents. His birth year only seems to fit in with these parents that were in Union County from 1850 to 1880. Both John and Rose state in all of their census records that their parents were also born in Indiana.
Any help with any of these Indiana Dungan families would be greatly appreciated.
