Hi

My step father was Donald Dungan of Miami, Ottawa OK. His father was Thurman and his father was Zelah and Mary Ann Grist who had 7 children whose names I have. Further back John Anderson Dungan who married Susanna Crandall that you mentioned. Donald and mom visited the cemetery in Indiana when they came to Indiana to visit me.

I traced Donalds genealogy to Donegan the Perfumer of Ireland and gave him a copy years ago. These Dungans were related to Indiana Governor Dungan and Donald was in the book as a young boy--before their family went to OK. Also you will be interested in the book about Jeremy Clarke and Dungan--I have the citation at home in my files. It is in the Genealogy collection in Fort Wayne,IN and probably in larger genealogical collections in the USA being a historic book. I am in OKLA visiting.

Donald had no children and he was only child of Thurman and Ethel Ruth Naylor. Donald told me Thurman went to Indiana with the older folk and he and his mother came to OKLA on the train when he was a little boy. Thurman fell down the stairs and later died of his injuries. Ruth lived to be in her 90's. Zelah and wife and Thurman and Ruth and Donald are buried outside of Columbus,Cherokee Co. KS Greenlawn Cemetery by Pleasant Hill Church. (my ancestors were early in Cherokee Co.) I have sung at the church when young.
