Ginger,
You contacted me on Jan 30, 2006, about the William Lobb in will of George White (m. Eunice Dungan). William Lobb is definitely the name. The "L" is very clear in one section. Jacqueline Ambler Lewis was a witness to the will.
I did a DNA project search and found one John F. P. Lewis.
This was John Francis Penny Lewis. The link is:
http://lewissurnamednaproject.com/lineage_no_match.htm

This shows the family of John F. P. Lewis and Nancy Davis.
Children were:
Margaret (b. abt. 1780 VA and d. 1844 in KY)
Robert T (b. abt. 1783 VA and d. 1864 KY)
Caroline (b. abt. 1784 d. 1854 KY)
Jacqueline Ambler Lewis, b. 1786 d. 1874 KY
ELIZABETH, b. abt 1787 VA d. aft 1850
Mahala D. (b. 1789 VA d. 1852 KY)
Theodosia (b. 1793 d. 1848 in MO
Nancy D. (b. 1795
JANE E. LEWIS, b. abt. 1797

I think the death year for Jacqueline might be a bit off.
And, I think the possiblity his high that Jane E. Lewis was the 2nd wife of my George White. I can't find a marriage for them. They may have not been married---which was common practice back then--or they married in Lincoln Co. I believe Robert T. Lewis is the same Robert in the Casey Co. KY censuses. Jacqueline Ambler Lewis is also in these censuses. Mahala D. Lewis m. Cyrus Logan on 23 Nov 1815. Mancy D. Lewis m. James Blain in 1825, Lincoln Co. KY. Robert T. Lewis m. Dorcas Goan in 1809 an Maria L. Patton in 1826. These are not in the DNA report.

John F. P. Lewis and Nancy Davis m. abt. 1777 in Amherst Co. VA. John shows b. in ENG abt. 1752 and died in Lincoln Co. KY in 1837. Casey Co. formed out of Lincoln Co. in 1807. I think the John Francis in early Casey Co. KY may just be John Francis Penny Lewis.

Nancy Davis goes to the line of Nathaniel Davis and Elizabeth Atkins and Nathaniel Robert Davis and Abadiah Lewis of the Barbados. This line connects to the Indian "Powhatan"---and to Pocahontas. You can look at some family trees at rootsweb. I did not have time to go through them to check dates, etc. In the DNA Project, they apparently are looking for other descendents. Robert T. Lewis had Theophilus Mortimer Lewis (3rd generation). He was b. 1831 in Lincoln Co. KY. He m. Elizabeth M. Alcorn. in 1858. Theo d. in 1909 in Fayette Co. KY. John Logan Lewis was b. 28 July 1872 in Lincoln Co. KY. He d. 24 Dec 1943 in St. Paul, Minnesota. John Logan Lewis m. Florence E. Knowx in 1907.

Do you think this could be your Elizabeth Lewis, who married William Lobb? Jacqueline Ambler Lewis is in 1870 Boyle Co. KY census as Jackerline Lewis, living with a family--or by himself (can't remember off the top of my head). Jacqueline was m. to Elizabeth Hutchinson/Hutchings, d/o Thomas who was one of the Executors in the will of George White. Hutchings shows as Hutchinson and Hutchings in the same will (as does surname of Johnson/Johnston. Usually, two members from each side of family were present during will. There was a Nancy Lewis who m. a John Taylor on 1794, Mercer Co. KY. I am wondering if this could be Nancy Davis Lewis, who may have been divorced by John. Just hard to say.

Shari
