Joseph Dungan

Every family appears to have had a "Joseph Dungan".
The one I am looking for is the one who came to Delaware County, IN, where he purchased two parcels of land in 1833.
It is said that he died a few years later, and Joseph (Jr.) and Samuel H. Dungan are listed as his heirs. (At this time, the 1833 land records and the probate records are the best information that I have to built on.)
I have contacted various Joseph Dungan researchers and they all agree that his wife was Elizabeth Howery.
But some believe he was born in 1770 in Bucks County, PA; others belive he was born in 1777 in Fayette County, IN; others believe he was born in 1780 in Ohio; and another believe he was born in 1793 in Scotland.
I believe the above Samuel is the one who married into my Lowry family. MaryLu in Minnesota
