Is it an acceptable practice to write letters of inquiry to "possible" relatives, based on information presented in the forum by decendants of the line you're researching? I.e. "decendant of a certain Dungan has lived in Town X ever after"; I search for their name in the public listings, and write to the addresses seeking information on the ancestors. I don't want to offend anyone-- Tnx.
