Thomas and Mary (Fielder) Dengate immigrated from Wittersham, Kent, to LaColle, Quebec during the early 1840's. They eventually settled in Perry Mills, Clinton County, NY. They had 7 children: George b. 1827 Wittersham; Harriet b. 1830 Witt; William b. 1832 Witt; Marriane b. 1835 Witt; Sally b. 1840 Witt; James b. Canada 1842, d. 1847 LaColle; Margaret b. Canada, date unknown. Besides my g-g-grandfather, William, I cannot find any trace of the children born in Wittersham. Margaret eventually settled in Essex Co., NY and had a large family. She may have married a Durnin (or similar name). Thomas is listed in NY records as both Dengate and Dungate. Does anyone know what happened to these children?
