Thank you, Mary! Those dates do make sense.Apparently, the dates on the 1850 census were not very accurate. The Riverside Cemetery records show that James died 6 Jan. 1846, aged 19 y., 9 mo., so we do have a difference there. [You have (1826 - 1849)].
In 1880, Justice / Justus DUNHAM, 75, was of Hamilton, Decatur Co., IA, with second wf. Mary, 55, & dau. Almeda.Have you found Mary's maiden name? Some researchers think that Justice DUNHAM m1. Eunice or Elizabeth BUDD, who d. 23 Feb. 1844 after having Eunice, Franklin, and Elizabeth. Then within a few months, Justice DUNHAM m2. Mary FERGUSON & had James Taylor, Clark, Robert F., & Almeda.
Eunice DUNHAM, 16, & Franklin DUNHAM, 13, were in the household of John BUDD, 65, in 1850.Elizabeth, 7,would have been the one in the household of Robert FERGUSON in 1850.
Is that what you have?
