Edward Dunkley 1870s Bedford + Lavendon
I am tracing my grandmothers family tree. She was Mary Ann Dunkley from Bedford born 15th May 1874.
Her father was Edward Dunkley born in Lavendon Bucks - he was an iron worker at the Britannia Iron Works at Bedford. He was married to Sarah Goldsmith of Harrowden Bedford and they had eight or possibly nine children including my grandmother. They were Edward b. 1868, Sarah,b.1870. Fanny,b.1873, Mary Ann, William b.1877, Rose Emily b.1879, Arthur Jamesb.1880, Lily b.1882 and possibly Fred who I have photographs and reports but no record of birth. During the late nineteenth century they lived at different addresses in Great Butts Street Bedford.
When I checked the 1851 census there was only one Dunkley in Lavendon - Mary Ann Dunkley a visitor aged 17 from Northamptonshire living with a family called Coles. There the trail ends - has anyone any more information ?
