Just returned from holiday and found two things about Edward Dunkley waiting for me - your message and his birth certificate.
The birth certificate confirms he was born in Lavendon on 20th February 1848 and his father was William Dunkley a victualler at that time living in Lavendon and mother Hannah was formerly called Bent.
I knew there was a Northamptonshire connection but did not know where and that is what makes your e-mail so interesting. I haven't got the 1881 census on disc but have recently been to the local library where ther are many, many pages of Northamptonshire Dunkleys. I would be very interested in any further info. you have.
