Many Many thanks for that information. I was off to the library tomorrow to look up the 1881 census and you have saved me a trip. It is very useful information especially the address 19 Kings Place which fits in neatly with some other information I have about my grandmother.
I don't know whether this fits in with your Dunkleys in Paulersbury - are there links? As you say there are nearly 1000 Dunkleys listed on the 1881 Census in Northamptonshire and unless you have some 'hard information' it is difficult to make links.
I did come across one amusing Dunkley reference. You may know there was a Dunkley Pram manufacturers in Birmingham. They branched out into making cars and actually started making motorised prams in the period after the First World War - some with very powerful engines. The mind boggles at these prams racing along the streets !
I think I have all eight children of Edward and Sarah - they are Edward 1868, Sarah 1870, Fanny 1873, Mary Ann 1874, William 1877, Rose Emily 1879, Artur James 1880, and Lily 1882. I do however have a mystery name an uncle Fred who is referred to in letters and a photograph. Whether this was one of Edward's children I am not sure - I can't find any record either on census or FRC - if you come across him I would be interested. I only found Edward junior because he turned up as a visitor in 1881 at his maternal grandparents.
