Just beginning Dunkley search. My mother, Ivy Winifred, was born in Birmingham 1921 to John Dunkley and Winifred (Buttery) who was born in Southhampton 1899. My G.grandfather was Ernest or John Ernest. There are 2 listings in the right time frame but don't know whch is right at this time. One Ernest Dunkley is from Surrey (1871), the other Ernest is from Warwick (1872) Tend to lean toward Surrey... his father was John, as was my Grandfather (1896) and my Uncle "Jack" (1925), both of whom lived in Ann Arbor Michigan. Rumored my GG Grandfather came to the States as gardener to work on the DuPont estate.?? Mother and Grandparents entered U.S. in 1921 via White Star Lines as steerage. Port of entry is listed as Detroit.
