Looking for ancestry/descendants of Green Berry L. Dunkley, b. 1800 SC, in Texas 1839-1844, married Mrs. Rebecca Pringle in 1845 Lauderdale MS. In Lauderdale MS 1850 & census. Children by this marriage are 3 sons: John G., Samuel S., & Salathiel, and 1 daughter: Sela E. or Elizabeth S.
Would especially welcome any information on his FIRST wife. Greenberry was married when he arrived in Texas as evidenced by the size of the headright he received of 640 acres. I believe that they are the father of Isetta Elizabeth, b. 1825, who married Robert Merritt in 1840 in Texas. Isetta & Robert named their first child Daniel Dunkley Merritt. Greenberry was the ONLY Dunkley in Texas. Later he was the ONLY Dunkley in MS. There were only a handful in SC in the early 1800's.
