Hello Gladys!! We knew Charlotte was an only girl and had 6 brothers. But we didn't know their names or anything else about the family.
I phoned my Mum and my Aunt yesterday about all of this.
Anyway, the Aunt in England,
Catherine Kite (named after her Grandmother Dunkley)
134 Dursley Road
I let her know that I gave you her address and phone number.
Your Grandfather David Dunkley is listed the occupation as a signal fitter on Charlotte and William's wedding certificate. I got a copy of it, and birth certificates of William and his father: Dewis Ellis Williamson when I was in England in 1985. The last time I was in England was in 1998. My mum, who lives here, close to Seattle, USA, was in England last year, 2001. When I spoke to my Aunty Cath, she remebered him (your Grandfather)going to Northampton often. So, maybe there was family up there. I might add that Cath and Tony visited Charlotte (their Mum) in the hospital right before she died. They both also attended the funeral. Charlotte is buried at: Brockley Cemetery. It is a unmarked grave as it is a "Pauper's grave" - very sad.
I can also tell you that we have a lot of family missing on the Williamson side as well. My greatgrandmother had 18 children and we just don't know the wherebouts of many of the cousins. I am afraid so many people that knew have died. Anyway, it's such fun finding out all this information.
Charlotte and William were married July 2nd 1922 in Deptford at St. Nicholas in London. She was 23 and he was 27.
