The information I have on our family is that John and Moses were brothers and their father was John Dunkley of King and Queen County, VA. who later moved to Brunswick. John was indeed married to Catherine Joyner and Moses was married to Martha (no last name). Moses and Martha had 3 children, John Robert and Ralph. Ralph never married but was named in Catherine Joyner Dunkley's will as nephew, the son of Moses Dunkley.

This information is provided by Mrs. Agnes Dunkley who did very extensive research in the late 1980's. She put together a booklet "Dunkley of Virginia, 1704 - 1850 in Southampton, Brunswick and Halifax Counties".

I hope this helps.

Jackie Dunkley Gray
