I was wondering if there was any interest in forming a Dunkley DNA Surname Project with familytreedna.com. It takes a minimum of 6 participants and we already have 2. These are 2 of the only living 8 Dunkley male descendants of Oliver Dunkley who came to PA in 1688. We are a very small clan. Our migration was PA>NC>SC>TX>MS>AL&LA.
I would like to have many more participants that represent the Utah Dunkley descendants of Joseph, Elnathan and other Virginia Dunkleys, of any race and of any spelling, and if possible, England, Australia, and other areas where the Dunkleys may have settled throughout the globe.
This would be a Y-DNA25: 25 Markers Test through the male line (i.e. your last name must be Dunkley, but not through adoption of the surname.) The current price is $229 per test. I am checking to see if discounts are available for groups, but for planning purposes, that is the cost you should count on paying.
I would gladly be the Surname Administrator. If interested, please contact me. I am not paid in any way for this -- but like you, I am very curious and just want to know!
