Diane, Sorry. I was tired when I responded to the mess. Moses did not as far as I know live in Lunenburg Co., he did live in Brunswick Co. I was thinking of Henry Wilson, father of Martha Dunkley. Henry Wilson did live in Lunenburg Co. and was one of the largest land owners there. Back to Moses - Moses does wit. some deeds in Lunenburg Co. and he was a wit. on some deeds in Surry Co. None of this before 1729. I don't have any real proof that Moses was the father of John and Robert, but John named his first son Moses and Moses SR. was the only older Dunkley in the same county as John. Do know that Ralph was for sure a son. Refer to the will of Catherine Dunkley, wife of John Dunkley. The will was dated Apr. 12, 1758. She gives her brother in law, Moses Dunkley and his son Ralph the plantation of her desc. husband John Dunkley. The will is in Southampton Co.
This John and Catherine did not have any children. He was Moses' brother. They may have been sons of the John Dunkley on the 1704 VA land owner list. I am descended from John of Brunswick and Halifax through his dau. Sally Sarah Dunkley. If you would like, I will exchange information on the Dunkley and Wilson families.
