I have found a bit more information on the J.C. Dunlap that I have listed in the previous mail, however... still no parents, siblings, etc...
He was....
John (Jonathan) C. Dunlap (Dunlop)
Born: Tennesse around 1814 (he is listed as 36 years old in the 1850 census of Polk Co., Texas)
He served in the 2nd Regt., 2nd Brig., Texas Militia under Captain B.P. Hardin in the Texas Revolution, and was subsequently granted land in Polk county by the Republic of Texas.
His oldest son, Crockett Dunlap was born in 1837 in Texas (according to the above mentioned 1850 census), so I assume that we was established with his wife, Georgia (maiden name unknown, but born 1817 in North Carolina) around 1836-7 in the Republic of Texas.
If anyone has information on John C. Dunlop of Tennesse/Texas, please let me know, as I am coming up empty at all turns to date.Thanks.
David Dunlap
