Ofcourse McAleavy researchers should be posting on this forum. Names such as McAleavy, Dunleavy and Dunlop are all merely Anglicised versions of the same name (Macduinnsleibhe). If it is indeed the history of your name you are reseaching and not a short term family tree, then there must be a consideration made of the splitting of your names origin.
