Lowell MA was a city built / based on cotton textile manufacture beginning in 1823, many people moved here to work in the mills
Names found in Lowell Directory and Almanac 1853

George Dunlavy laborer
James Dunlavy laborer
James Dunlavy Boott mill
James Dunlavy Jr Boott mill
John Dunlavy Merrimac mill
John Dunlavy laborer

no Dunlavy's found in 1840 directory

As far as I know, I am not related to this branch, but found the name while researching some of Lowell's history.
The UMASS Lowell Center for Lowell History is the source for more information, located in the Mogan Cultural Center on French Street
