My family live in Binghamstown which is about 3 miles from Belmullet in Co Mayo. Binghamstown is usually referred to as "An Geata Mor" on maps.

The local priest in Binghamstown is Father George McHale, Binghamstown, Belmullet, Co Mayo and he may be able to help you with queries.

My maternal grandmother was Kathleen Dunleavy, whose people were from Binghamstown and my mother remembers her often talking about Charlie Dunleavy.

If you visit Binghamstown the first building in the village (close to the phonebox) is where the Dunleavy's once lived.

Good luck with your quest
