Family research

Hello, I am trying in vain to research the family tree on my Mother's side. The name is Dunlop. A James and Jane Dunlop lived at 29 Southey St Shop around 1881 ish.
Jane was James's second wife. His first wife was a Martha Harris and she married James in 1851.
They had 8 Children, two of which were born at sea, which leads me to believe that James was a merchant seaman(maybe).Four of the children were born in Workington. The children were:Martha(1860),Janet(1867),James(1868),Robert(1871),Ida Jane(1873),George(1875),Mary(1878) and Hellen(1880).George ran away to sea at the age of 18 years old(to America)he ended up in Sacramento, California where he died in 1964.
James Dunlop(father) was christened on 29th May 1825 in Muiravonside, Stirling, Scotland. His father was William Dunlop and mother was Elizabeth Binnie(Benny).
Do these names and dates mean anything to anyone?
I will be so grateful for any information, no matter how small.
Kind Regards,
Donna :o)
