James Dunlop/ County Roscommon
Posted by: Donna Dunlop (ID *****6375) Date: September 01, 2002 at 18:01:12

I'm looking for any information on a James Dunlop who emigrated in the early 1820's from Ireland. He was born abt 1785,County Roscommon, married a Mary? b. abt 1794 in County Cork. Their children, according to my records, were as follows: John, b May 14, 1814 in Ireland; Gabriel, b, abt 1819 in Ireland; James, born abt 1822 in Goulborne District Upper Canada; William, b abt 1826, Hull, Quebec and Robert, b abt 1830, Goulbourne District. He may have been a soldier in the Royal Corp of Sappers and Miners as I have a record of a request for a land grant for a James Dunlop , dated 1824/02/04 for land in Goulbourne District. Any information would be appreciated.
