During a phone conversation with James T. Dunnam a few days ago, he stated that information he recently obtained has caused him to revise his ancestral data since it proves that Robert Commander Dunnam Sr's parents were Ebenezer Dunnam/Dunham and Frances Commander, not Robert Dunnam and Susan Burne as previously thought.

In addition, information that I obtained from James T. Dunnam, researcher Liz Bivin, and online resources, such as censuses and court documents, have been used to establish the names and other information for the children of Robert Commander Dunnam Jr and his wife Sarah Lewis. This previously unpublished data may be seen in my online genealogy database at

I descend from Robert Commander Dunnam Jr's daughter Susan E. and her husband Thomas Hamilton Vernon. Vernon's wife was previously listed by other researchers as Susan Ann Dunnam, daugher of Andrew Johnson Dunnam, however the data I have compiled has proven that to be an error since the latter Susan was still in her parents' household in Coosa County AL in 1850-1860 at the same time that T.H. Vernon and wife Susan were in Wilcox County AL.
