Hi Peter.
I am attempting to research deatils on the parentage of an Ann Dunnett who was a milk maid at Castle Mey and in the service of Captain James Sutherland who was the tacksman for the Sinclair Lords and was later to become the 5th Lord Duffus. He was a bit of a character and Ann became pregnant to him. Details of this are in the Canisbay Parish records. Ann was only 15 at the time (1780) and would have been born around 1765 in East Mey. It seems highly likely that her parents would also have been in service at the Castle.
Do you have any info on her or her family in the Mey Letters.
Many thanks
