JoAnn my mothers family was from Terre Haute and that area of soth-central Illinois and Indiana; the furthest we have gotten back is Augustus Joseph born Apr.1858 married Nellie Mae Reagan born Aug.1863. Augustus' name has been recorded as Augusten&Augustine the family knew the old boy as A.J.;he was a cantankerous sort who was a druggist in West Terre Haute In. A.J. had a brother Richard A. who moved to California and became an Attorney!! I do not have any record of their parents other than a note from a Mr. Riggs of Carrolton Tx. who claims his ancestor was A.J. and Richards mom a Eliza Thralls and states that the fathers name was John. I hope this is helpful! Dave Ray
