Marilda Dunagin, Georgia to Johnson County, Texas. DOB 1834. I believe that Marilda Dunagin was the sister of Marion Donegan (who changed the spelling on his name.) Marion Donegan came to Johnson County, Texas, with his mother, Mary Rush, after his father, Hiram Dunagin, died in Missouri, sometime around 1840-1844. We were told that Hiram Dunagin died on the Trail of Tears but this is unconfirmed. Hiram's son and Marion's brother, Jasper Dunagin, settled at Pea Ridge, Ark., and was a member of the Arkansas State Legislature for a time. I am looking for information about Mary Rush and any possible connection that she may have had to the Cherokee or Creek nations.
