Antoine L. Dunston, born October 1845 (or 1844 or 1846) near Mineral Point or Linden, Wisconsin.Died January 19, 1916 in Madison, WI.He served in the Civil War.According to the 1900 census, his father was born in Ohio and his mother in Kentucky.
Married November 18, 1879 to Ella Heberling in Boscobel, WI.She was born October 1865 in Wisconsin and was apparently Irish. According to the 1900 census,her father was born in Pennsylvania and her mother in Ohio.She had two sisters, Margaret and Susan.
Margaret married Jimmy Hatch.They apparently lived in Wakonda, South Dakota and died about 1915.Apparently had a son named Jimmy Herlocker and a daughter named Mrs. Hatch.May have been known as Mary or Mrs Gurnsey at one point who died Sept 25th 1917, lived in Bagley, Minnesota and died in Boscobel, WI.
Susan was born ca. 1846.She married Augustus Franklin Snow in Grant County, WI, on March 19, 1884.She was also apparently known as Susanna Heberling Desmond at one point.May have had a husband named Charlie and a daughter named Gladys.Ended up in Calmar, Iowa.Had a grandson named Harry.
Antoine and Ella had four girls and a boy.They were apparently divorced in 1902.Their children were presumably all born in southwest Wisconsin, Grant or Richland County:
Golda, a.k.a. Goldie, born April 1884.At one point with Mable in Appleton, WI.
Mable, born July 1886.At one point with Golda in Appleton, WI.Last known address - Fon du Lac, WI.
Sylvia, born June 1888.On May 6, 1901 was committed (from Richland County) to the State Public School for dependent and neglected children in Sparta.Indentured to Geo.(?) Madden, Fox Lake, Dodge County, WI.Last known as Sylvia Dunston Oakey, 30 N. Mills St., Madison, WI, March 1909.
Either Golda or Sylvia became known as Mrs. Frank Mullen and lived at 210 West Harrison Street, Chicago.
Rose, born July 29, 1892 in Boscobel, WI.Adopted by Andrew A. Wessel in Albany, WI.Became known as "Rose B".A schoolteacher who taught in De Forest, Wis., and at Hanna, Wyoming.Married Theodore Holum on August 26, 1920, in Barnesville, MN.Had three daughers - Harried born ca. 1922, Martha born ca. 1927, and Rose Justine Wessell born April 30, 1928.Died May 9, 1928.
Frank, born August 19, 1896.August 1905 he was committed (from Dane County) to the State Public School for dependent and neglected children in Sparta.He was indentured to David and Sadie Johnston starting September 5, 1905 until he was 18 (August 18, 1914).
Ella later married John C. Johnson.Known as Ella Johnson in Madison in 1906.By 1912 was married to A. T. Keith and lived in Flandreau, South Dakota.Died November 7, 1913.
